AL Habib Asset Management Limited (AHAML) was incorporated in year 2005 as an Unlisted Public Limited Company. AHAML is licensed to carry out Asset Management and Investment Advisory services, under the Non-Banking Finance Companies (Establishment and Regulations) Rules, 2003. AHAML is also a member of the Mutual Funds Association of Pakistan (MUFAP).
Pakistan Credit Rating Agency Limited (PACRA) has assigned an Asset Manager Rating of “AM2+” to the entity. The rating reflects that the Company meets high investment management standards and benchmarks with noted strengths in several of the rating factors.
AHAML is a wholly owned subsidiary of Bank AL Habib Limited, managing numbers of Open-end Schemes and several Discretionary and Non- Discretionary Portfolios. The Company has a vast customer base comprising individuals, sole-proprietorships, retirement funds, public and private sector entities, and charitable institutions. The Assets under Management of AHAML as on February, 2024 are over 122 billion.

Dr. Mufti Ismatullah holds the degrees of “Shahadat-ul-Aalamiyah” and “Takhassus Fil Fiqh” from Jamia Dar-ul-Uloom, Karachi. He is working as a Shariah Advisor for Park Qatar Takaful Group and also IGI Window Takaful. He is a PhD in Islamic Economics from University of Karachi. He has also been associated with Islamic Banking Division of Bank AL Habib Limited since 2006 as Shariah Advisor, prior to his appointment as the Chairman of Shariah Board. He has been teaching Quran, Hadith, Fiqh, Philosophy, and Arabic Grammar at Dar-ul-Uloom since 1993. He has a vast experience in issuing Shariah rulings (Fatwa) and is currently serving as Dar-ul-Ifta’ of Dar-ul-Uloom. So far, he has issued about 20,000 Fatwas regarding various topics and Shariah issues.
His thesis – Zar (Money) in light of Shariah – is considered as one of the most useful research on Islamic Economics and has already been published. He is a renowned research scholar; his research papers have been published in Monthly “Al Balaagh”. He also wrote a book “Guide to Takaful or Islamic Insurance” that has been published as well.
